Sørby Utleie is Østfold's largest machine rental company and has over 2,500 units in its rental fleet, from simple hand tools to lifts and large excavators of 35 tonnes. The company was started in 2005 and was run by the twin brothers Lars and Erik Sørby until Martin Authen took over the management role in 2020. Sørby Utleie has an expected turnover in 2022 of NOK 240 million and 52 employees. The head office is in Hobøl and they have branches in Vestby, Sarpsborg and Halden.
Sørby Utleie has been a customer of Hybeko since 2007, with 190 Genie lifts and 50 Dino lifts in the park. Recently they bought a large number of Genie lifts, from six to 22 meters, most of which were with electric motors. Now fully 86% of Sørby's Genie park consists of electric operation!
Genie E-Drive - sustainable and user-friendly
Genie has now got E-Drive on all its scissor lifts, while other challenges have been rectified. Authen is very satisfied with that:
- There have been some challenges with paint and with propulsion on the drive wheels. The latter has made it difficult to load the scissor lifts onto the trailers. Now these things have been corrected. The fact that they have received E-Drive is crucial for us. They also have higher ground clearance, which makes it easier to load and unload the car and trailer. We also really believe in the Genie GS-1432e and the 16 meter Genie GS-4655. These are nice to have in the assortment.
Everything is taken care of at Hybeko
Sørby Utleie chooses lifts from Hybeko, even though the price may be somewhat higher than the competitors:
- There are several reasons why we choose to buy from Hybeko, again and again, says Authen. - Hybeko can supply the entire range of lifts we need, from 6 to 16 meters with electric operation. It is of course convenient for shopping. And even if they cost a bit more, we know that we will get that back when the machines are sold on. We would have saved NOK 10,000 per eight meter lift if we had bought another brand, but we would have lost that when they were to be sold again.
Follow-up and level of service are very important when Sørby Utleie chooses a supplier.
- Hybeko takes care of it. You are always willing to step up and help when needed. Hybeko is a large and serious player that we know we can trust. If something happens, we know it will be fixed.
